Mindfulness

Mindfulness in modern time traces its origins to aspects of ancient Buddhist practice. The nature of our society today with our near constant bombardment of news, advertising, media, and social media, makes mindfulness have substantial relevance for our present-day lives.

Mindfulness explores who we are, our views of the world and our place in it. All while cultivating an appreciation for the fullness of each moment. A simple idea that takes significant effort to implement.

~Mindfulness is paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment free from judgment.

Mindfulness may be thought of as a form of waking up to the fact that our lives unfold only in moments. When modern life distracts us or we distract ourselves from our awareness of the present moment, we may not only miss what is valuable and meaningful to our lives but also fail to realize the richness and depth of our possibilities for growth and transformation.

Diminished awareness of the present moment inevitably creates other problems for us through our automatic actions, thoughts, and behaviors, often driven by fears and insecurities.
